While women are at the forefront of the music industry, many are seen, but not truly heard. Many are not seen as creators, producers, or even writers of their own music. They're novelties, not musicians. And less than 15% of festival acts are female-led.
To launch the Live In Levi's music education program, encouraging youth by providing them with inspiration and setting up local programs dedicated to music education, we wanted to celebrate young and aspiring female acts to get out and get loud.
We set out to create the first female-led music lab, Red Tab Records, and music festival sponsored by Levi's.
